We encourage you to learn outside of class and bring your discoveries back into the studio. Tell us about things you’re reading and observing around you. Post links and articles to the blog and maybe comment on what they made you think about. Share pictures and videos. This is a relatively new field and we’re all learning about it together.
Thoughtful
We are very interested in how you think, where your ideas come from and how they evolve. In our conversations we are as curious about the directions you discard as those you choose to follow. We will be dealing with sketches, prototypes, and works in progress—we want to see you actively and thoughtfully explore many ideas, as opposed to perfectly polishing just one.
Collaborative
We believe that better things result when people share their knowledge and skills. You will work on projects individually as well as in groups, so everyone’s unique strengths will shine through. Be generous with your feedback and advice, don’t be shy about participating in our group discussions, and don’t hold back when you see someone you can help.
Collegial
We value the reputation you are building as young designers. Approach this studio as you would your job on a design team. Respect everyone here by being punctual, contributing your fair share, and always delivering on time. Each one of us shares a collective responsibility towards this experience. We want you to succeed and we also expect the best from you.
